Steam Controller is out next week, and Valve says the Steam Machine is almost here too

Valve announced the Steam Machine, Steam Frame, and Steam Controller in November 2025, and now, it’s almost time for one of those products to hit the market. Today, the company revealed that the Steam Controller is releasing next week. While there’s no release date or pricing information about the other two pieces of Valve hardware, it sounds like details about those will be coming soon too.

The new Steam Controller is releasing on May 4, 2026, at 1AM PT. Head to its Steam store page here to keep track of the release and see if your region is supported by the company. As previously rumored, the controller comes in at $99 / £85 / €99.

It comes with two trackpads for playing mouse and keyboard games with ease, magnetic TMR thumbsticks to combat stick drift, built-in haptics, gyro controls, an 8.39 Wh Li-ion battery, and extra back buttons. Repairability is a big focus too, with the device being easily disassembled via screws.
